Medical Courses of Enhanced Life Support

With the immense changes in lifestyle and diet routines of the individuals, more and more people are likely to get one or more of the chronic diseases. This has certainly increased the demand of young medical professionals who can responsibly handle any of the undesirable medical conditions.

In order to enhance the quality of health care services in pertinent facilities, AHA (American Heart Association) strongly focuses on various certification programs that all of the medical practitioners should undertake according to their functions in the medical industry. Since the programs are designed for medical practitioners which may include doctors, nurses, radiology technicians, physical therapists and a number of other health care experts.

Few of the courses by AHA curriculum are AHA ACLS, PALS, BLS, Intro to ECG and Pharmacology, Airway Management and a number of other courses as well. The AHA’s Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course has been designed for the individuals who either need to direct or actively take part in revival of the patient irrespective of whether they are in a medical facility or not.

All about the ACLS Course

The certification primarily focuses on necessity of BLS CPR for the patient’s survival, how the basic life support can be integrated with advanced cardiac life support interventions to improve the chances of survival.  The course aims to improve the skills of the individuals for the treatment of patients if cardiac arrest or with other heart related (cardiopulmonary) emergencies. This course is ideal and intended for all the medical providers such as emergency medical technicians, nurse, paramedics, physicians, respiratory therapists, and other relevant practitioners.

The certification/credential is valid 2 years from the course completion and can be renewed by undertaking the renewal courses. The ACLS classes are offered by AHA training centers across the nation and are available for the medical practitioners scheduled by AHA.
